Thanks for the info, Ashleys Mommy!
Wow, a whole new doll, huh? I was worried that if they wanted to give her a head transplant her skin tones wouldn't match anymore, but I never expected they'd give you an entirely new doll! I'm assuming they'd only charge you the $38 for the new head? And you're right, Ashley's Mommy - after having my Samantha for so long, getting a new doll would just be, well, weird. I'm sure she'd be a very pretty doll, but she just wouldn't be *my* Samantha, you know?
It's disappointing that they won't do hair treatments or wig replacements. I've seen plenty of people around the internet who do their own treatments and replacements. You'd think that AG would offer them, too, since there must be people (like me) who would be willing to pay around $38 in order to get it professionally done. Somehow things never work out for me when I try to get artsy-crafty. Joy, thank you so much for the photographic tutorial of the "downey dunk" process. In this case, pictures really are worth a thousand words! After looking through it, I may just have to get up my courage and try it.
Just one question, though. Do you find that the Downey Dunk has a "time limit" on it? By this I mean, do the frizzies keep coming back if you don't repeat the Dunk every so often? Just wondering if this is a process that needs to be repeated yearly or twice yearly or what have you, or if it is mostly a one-shot deal.
Thanks again for all your help, everyone.
